DEMUN

Demun are malevolent spirits that can’t find peace. They are often associated with souls that died under extreme trauma.
The Purity Clan handles matters of Exorcism, since conventional weapons have little to no effect on Spirits.
Mercury is said to be the protector against Demun, and his totem, the black dragon is used as a guardian against such spirits. However due to his standing as a trickster God, they may be fabrications created by Mercury to encourage people to behave.

Wrath

The reanimated bones of a warrior who can’t find peace. Said to wander the battlefield, praying on scavengers and looters.
Put to rest by either breaking the bones to the point where the spirit can’t physically attack, or by clearing the battlefield of the dead.
The fear of Wrath spirits inspired the cremation funeral rites of Sephronian culture, to prevent the dead from returning from grave.

Lust

The spirit of a person who was violated and killed. Said to lure unsuspecting victims with alluring movement and song, before devouring the flesh of their captivated prey.
Can be quietened by giving the body a proper funeral, or with a verbal apology by the aggressor who wronged them in life.

Gluttony

The disembodied spirit of a Demon that has been left to rot without its body being harvested.
They can be returned to the grave by cleansing the entire area with spiritual markers, and purifying the beast through force.
Because of this superstition, hunters will always make sure that all of the flesh is harvested, and that the bones are striped clean.

Greed

A spirit of a person who was robbed and killed. They haunt an object taken from their corpse that meant a lot to them in life, and torment whoever is in possession.
Can be purified by burying the object in the victims urn with their ashes.
This superstition leads thieves to avoid murder when possible, or else summon the wrath of a the spirit.

Sloth

The spirit of someone killed in captivity. They haunt the area that they died, attacking trespassers. Identified by their clanking chains; slow moving but very deadly if they catch their prey.
Can be purified by blessing the area they haunt.
This superstition prevents soldiers or kidnappers from killing their captives.

Pride

Small spirits that haunt malicious rulers. Eventually they number so many that they overcome and consume the ruler with his own sin.
Can be purified by acts of charity and compassion.
This superstition prevents leaders from becoming too cruel or greedy.

Envy

Spirits that haunt those that covert. Mischievous spirits that whisper in their victims ear to intensify their urges, and like to hide their possessions.
Purified by cleaning the haunted home, and repelled by acts of charity.
This superstition encourages generosity and discourages envy.
