NATSUMI YUKIHANA
Natsumi is the founder and de-facto leader of Raikiri.
She’s the elder sister of Fuyumi, daughter of Harumi and niece of Tsunami.
Personality
Natsumi is a cheerful and upbeat person, always looking to make a friend and give others the benefit of the doubt.
However this attitude makes her naive to the crueler aspects of the world, and is vulnerable to having her spirit broken when confronted with harsh reality.
She’s very energetic and curious, with a lust for exploration.
While this leaves her with a short attention span, she has a nack for dragging others into enjoying whatever activity floats to the top of her interest.
Her desire to get stronger pushes her to enjoy tense battles, and pushes her to exercise her body constantly.
Behind her smiles lies a fragile ego that doesn’t acknowledge her strength; a lack of confidence she hides from those around her.
Appearance
Natsumi is a relatively short teenage girl, with an athletic build honed by excessive training. As an angel she has large flight wings on her back.
Her hair is a cropped pixie cut usually in messy spikes, which keeps leading to her being mistaken for a boy or tomboy, both terms she finds annoying. Unlike her sister she has a cowlick that sticks up on the top of her head, and her bangs angle to the right. She likes to change her hair colour frequently, though usually leaves some of her natural pink hair showing through.
Her choice of clothing allows for greater movement with short shorts and crop tops, and the clothing brand Valkyrie being her favourite.
Typically her outfits will include a single knee pad on the right knee, padded fingerless gloves and her team jacket.
The pendent she wears was a gift from her mother, which she refuses to take off.
The outfit Natsumi wore when she first left home, consisded of her favourite shirt, and white short shorts, as well as a short sleeved, turquoise jacket.
The shirt and jacket however were ruined in her fight against Keanu, causing her to use a rotation of different outfits during her travels across Affe.
Though she replaced the jacket with a similar one, now baring the Raikiri logo on the back.
She reverted back to her favourite shirt for her return to Tenshi, only to have both the shirt and jacket ruined again in the fight with Zizun.
She always carries her twin pistols and escrima sticks, holstered on her legs.
Spare ammunition is worn on the front of her belt.
Originally she didn’t think to wear body armour, but after a harsh lesson from the fight with Keanu she took to wearing a cropped bullet shirt and briefs under her clothing.
History
background
Natsumi was left by her mother in the care of her Aunt, never to be seen again. Pushing down her own concerns she focused on helping her younger sister, Fuyumi, deal with her own sadness.
When Fuyumi began fantasising about traveling the world, Natsumi began training to become a mercenary and realise that dream.
One evening the sisters overheard the League of Shaman discussing keeping Fuyumi confined to the temple for life, prompting Natsumi to suggest that the pair run away to see the world like they always dreamed. That night the two packed their bags and fled over the border into Affe, hoping to see as many sights in Fuyumi’s journal as they could before the League dragged them back home.

In the village of Metre they ran into the mercenary Keanu Ikazuchi, who tried to claim the bounty set by the League. Natsumi fought him but her inexperience made it a fairly one sided battle, despite gaining a second wind thanks to Fuyumi’s encouragement.
Now captives they were taken to Algebra only to find the bounty office closed. While there they caught the eye of the local crime boss, Hyeon Sang-Eo, who dispatched his own mercenary, Nyambura Arcotis, also known as Niya. Keanu was overwhelmed by Niya’s strength, but rather than escaping Natsumi tried to help him, breaking her escrima sticks in the process. The defeated Niya took the group to her blacksmith friend, Leon Edbeben, who repaired Natsumi’s sticks and upgraded them so she could use the Raiden Bure-Do technique.
Hyeon provoked Keanu into a fight, which Natsumi helped him with. The pair were able to do some damage to the crime boss but the battle ended with Hyeon taking Keanu hostage, provoking Natsumi to shoot him to escape being turned in. However Niya’s timely arrival helped turn the tide and Hyeon was defeated, Natsumi thankful for the pair showing what kind of mercenary she wants to be.
That night over pizza, Natsumi suggested that Keanu, Niya and Leon join her in forming a mercenary clan, which would become known as Raikiri.
The three traveled for a while, eventually joined by the shapeshifting child, Kukui. Over time Natsumi became aware that Fuyumi was feeling isolated in their group, so bought concert tickets to her favourite idol as a way of closing the vacation, which she kept a secret for now.
In the town of Vector, Fuyumi invited Rose and David to join Raikiri, making Natsumi proud of her sisters flourishing social skills.
hunted by black sword
When passing through the town of Divide, Raikiri was attacked by Black Sword assassins while separated. Natsumi and Kukui faced off against Jasmine Nuit, during which she accidentally charged one of Jasmine’s swords with her own energy signature. Max of Shadow Wolf intervened, but Natsumi recognised him from a previous attempt to capture Fuyumi and flew off to protect her sister. She misread the situation of attacked Lok of Shadow Wolf, giving the Black Sword assassins Iris an opening to escape. But not before launching a desperate poison attack at Lok which Natsumi blocked.
Overcome with the toxin, Natsumi collapsed and was hidden away while Keanu and Lok went to fetch a doctor.
While unconscious, Jasmine tracked Natsumi down, revealing that the sword Natsumi charged imprinted her emotions onto the assassin, helping inspire her defection to Raikiri. Thanks to her intervention, the doctors Fio and Lilia Nevoa were able to cure Natsumi. The entirety of Raikiri banded together to drive Black Sword away, and welcomed Fio, Lilia and Jasmine as new members.
Now traveling with Fuyumi, Keanu, Rose and Kukui, as well as Lok joining as a bodyguard, Raikiri circled back to head towards home.

A month later Raikiri entered Omega City, just before the border of Tenshi.
Natsumi’s secretive behaviour in hiding the concert tickets caused an argument with Fuyumi, who was feeling paranoid and insecure over Natsumi’s protective nature.
Keanu and Rose tracked Natsumi down to an ice cream parlour, where she barely held back her tears over the situation, but were interrupted by Dragolong forces who had come for Fuyumi.
Raikiri regrouped and headed for the border bridge, only to run into the Dragolong commander, Li Zizun.
Zizun made short work of Raikiri, taking Natsumi down with a single blow. Keanu and Fuyumi fell off the bridge and were washed away by the river, while Kukui escaped with Raikiri. With help from the other members of Shadow Wolf, they gave Zizun the slip and went into hiding.
